Skincare doesn’t need to be complicated to be effective.

At Ayrshire Skincare, we take a rather simple approach: choose ingredients carefully, understand what they do, and don’t add something simply because there’s room for it in the formula.

We make our skincare in small batches in Scotland, using ingredients selected for their purpose, quality and suitability for the product we’re making.

Every ingredient has a job to do.

That’s our starting point.

We read the label. And we expect you to.

We don’t expect you to understand every scientific name on an ingredient list.

But we do think you have a right to know what’s in the products you use every day — and why it’s there.

That’s why we’re transparent about our ingredients.

No mystery words designed to make a product sound more impressive.

No hiding behind vague descriptions where we can explain things clearly.

What is it?
Why is it there?
And does your skin actually need it?

Those are the questions we ask when developing our formulations.

Natural doesn’t automatically mean better

This is an important part of our thinking.

We’re passionate about plant-based ingredients, essential oils and botanical oils. But “natural” isn’t a magic word.

A natural ingredient still has to earn its place.

We consider what an ingredient does, how it works with the rest of the formulation, and whether it has a useful purpose in the finished product.

Because ultimately, it’s the formulation that matters.

Why fewer?

Because more isn’t necessarily better.

A longer ingredient list doesn’t automatically mean a better product. Sometimes it simply means there are more things to understand.

We’d rather use a carefully considered selection of ingredients, each with a clear purpose.

Our skincare is made here in Scotland, in small batches.

We work with suppliers we trust and, where possible, trace our ingredients back to their source.

We’re a small family business. We don’t have a factory producing thousands of litres of skincare.

And we don’t want one.

Because making things carefully is rather important to us.

Our promise is simple

We won’t tell you that natural skincare is automatically better.

We won’t tell you that you need ten products.

And we won’t expect you to take our word for what’s inside the bottle.
